ABOUT THE PROJECT

To celebrate the Women's World Cup 2023, a huge promotional event was held in London and Paris in conjunction with Nike and Rebel Girls. The event was aimed at inclusivity, friendship and confidence within young women across the globe. An interactive experience, featured footballers, insights, free swag, tour bus and more were present at the event.

EVENT UNDERWAY IN LONDON

Tasked with leading and managing the creative for the interactive gamification wall, there were a series of problems that had to be solved quickly to ensure inclusivity for all, competition, engagement and fun.

Initial Meet

Working to deliver a consolidated UX flow between 3 clients, it was paramount that the right information was extracted to ensure all development lines moved in the right direction from the off.

Once the rules had been established, this allowed me to quickly cycle through a series of ideas which were quickly put to test.

Understanding the project requirements, I moved on to sketch flows for the experience, which were promptly translated into Figma files for further discussions.

Having prepared some initial flows for review, there were a few minor changes to the overall flow where either elements were culled or appended to the design. Acquiring pre-defined artistic assets, I started to reflect the experience in the flows themselves.

Lightly dressed UX flows

After the next set of reviews, we were on track for a winner. On day 3 we had acquired a flow which tech could take directly to Unity to start developing whilst the creative team set to work on illustrations, animations and audio. With only a few minor iterations needed for one of the designs, I made the appropriate ammendments and created the final flow ready for review.

With the flow approved by all relevant stakeholders, work was then focused towards the creative. I created an in depth production document for all disciplines involved as well as individual documents per discipline.

Production Documents

Tech, art, animation and sound worked in unison with these documents, allowing testing of the prototype the following week.

Testing

It was essential that tests were carried out before going live to ensure that there were no potential issues that could occur on the days the event was live.

Apart from having to reduce texture sizes (Multiball screens are limited in terms of their technical capabilites), everything went according to plan. Only one change was needed, which was rapidly integrated into the build. Overall a major success and lots of happy stakeholders!

With everything working as intended, all that was needed now was to finalise layouts and assets. Great strides by the Jack Morton creative team, pushed the final quality of the product above and beyond expectations.

With the experience working as intended, all that was left to do was ship it to the event locations. Superb feedback from the event made this project a great success, especially considering the time constraints.
